T-Mobile Galaxy S II Update Rolling Out Tonight, ICS is Finally Here
T-Mobile is finally ready to rollout the ICS update for the Samsung Galaxy S II. After being teased before, we know for sure the rollout will begin tonight at 11pm EST / 8pm PST. The update will bring you up to ICS version 4.0.3, which is as near as you can get to the most current version without actually having it. Along with all the goodies that come with ICS, T-Mobile notes improvements to WiFi calling and voicemail enhancements. Also included is the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS), which allows the Federal Government to alert you to everything from dangerous weather to the zombie apocalypse.
Hit the break for details on how to get the update…
The update will not be coming over-the-air as you may already know, so you’re going to need Kies from Samsung installed on your computer, and you’ll need to hook up your phone via the USB cable. If you don’t have Kies installed, you’re not getting the update so you might as well go ahead and do it now (link below). You’ll also need to be updated to the latest version prior to the ICS update, which was version 2.3.6 (T989UVKL1). After you’ve done those things, all there is to do is sit back and wait.
